Job summary

The Georgia-Pacific Gypsum Fletcher facility is seeking a Mechanical Technician to join the maintenance team. You will troubleshoot, install, and maintain industrial machinery and electrical systems on rotating shifts, including weekends and overtime.

Ideal candidates have hands-on experience with preventive maintenance, hydraulics and pneumatics, and precision alignment of motors and pumps. You will collaborate with operations to meet production goals while following safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Experience with installation, calibration, fabrication, and preventive maintenance in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
• Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Experience with bearings, chains, sprockets, gearboxes, and conveyors.
• Precision alignment of motors, couplings, and pumps.
• Install, troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate electrical/mechanical instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, install, align, dismantle, repair, and maintain industrial machinery, mechanical equipment, electrical equipment, and circuits.
• Install and align new equipment.
• Perform periodic proactive asset strategies, such as maintenance routes and preventive maintenance to improve reliability.
• Install and repair mechanical drives, chains, sprockets, gearboxes, belts, and couplings.
• Maintain and troubleshoot pneumatic systems, control devices, hydraulic equipment, circuits, and components.
• Read and interpret schematics and maintain maintenance logs.
