Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker, Inc. in Chesterfield, MI is seeking a Maintenance employee to join our Metals Plant team. You will disassemble, repair, and reassemble machinery, troubleshoot from schematics, and operate equipment to move and maintain production systems.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a technical certificate preferred, and 3–5 years of related experience. You will follow safety procedures, obtain Lockout/Tagout authorization and a Hilo license during probation,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
• Technical school certificate, training preferred but not required.
• Read and write to follow maintenance requests; understand and follow written and verbal instructions; maintain simple records of items repaired and other routine equipment history.
• Approximately three to five years job related experience.
• Analytical skills to evaluate machine/equipment functions.
• Concentrate and pay close attention to detail when diagnosing, inspecting and checking repairs.
• Become authorized in Lockout/Tag out within probationary period.
• Obtain a Hilo license within the probationary period.

Responsibilities

• Disassembles, repairs, and reassembles machinery and equipment using tools; climbs, kneels, stands, or sits.
• Troubleshoots problems from electrical and hydraulic schematics; uses electrical testing equipment.
• Operates forklifts, hydraulic lifts, scissor lifts and hand carts to move equipment.
• Maintains files of work orders and maintenance histories.
• Performs building, machinery, and equipment repairs, installation, or modification with hydraulic, pneumatic, plumbing and electrical skills.
• Obtains materials from distributors and places orders for repair parts or materials.
