Job summary

La-Z-Boy Incorporated is seeking an experienced maintenance technician to provide predictive, preventive, and emergency maintenance on plant electrical and mechanical systems. The role includes diagnosing malfunctions, repairing components, and testing to ensure reliable operation in a manufacturing environment.

You will read diagrams, install and adjust equipment, and collaborate with operators. Welding and fabrication duties may be required; strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent; 3–5 years of experience in industrial maintenance preferred.
• Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and document machine malfunctions on mechanical and electrical components.
• Ability to read and interpret diagrams, blueprints, schematics, and maintenance manuals.
• Welding, fabrication, and basic machine shop tasks as needed.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine, preventive, and emergency maintenance on plant electrical and mechanical systems and equipment.
• Install, repair, adjust, and test equipment and components to ensure proper function.
• Inspect equipment, structures, and components to identify defects or issues.
• Use computers to manage work orders, document maintenance, and requisition parts/materials.
• Collaborate with machine operators to diagnose problems and verify system issues.
• Read technical documents including diagrams and ladder logic to support troubleshooting.
• Operate and coordinate activities with others; complete tasks with intermittent supervision as needed.
• Follow health and safety standards and maintain 5S cleanliness.
