Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Winston-Salem, NC to support a fast-paced packaging manufacturing facility. The role requires diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, and applying electrical principles to identify and fix equipment issues.

The ideal candidate will have mechanical maintenance experience in an industrial setting, knowledge of electrical systems, and PLC programming skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Mechanical maintenance experience in industrial/manufacturing setting.
• Knowledge of electrical/mechanical principles and troubleshooting.
• Experience with PLC programming is a plus.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose malfunctions in mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems using test equipment and hand tools.
• Inspect equipment to identify hazards, defects, and necessary repairs for safety and code compliance.
• Disassemble and reassemble machinery; perform mechanical or electrical repairs as needed.
• Calibrate or adjust equipment to specifications; install or replace meters and control devices.
• Repair industrial material handling equipment and basic electrical systems; weld and fabricate as required.
