Job summary

International Paper’s Lafayette Container facility in Lafayette, LA is seeking a Maintenance Journeyman Level 3 Electrical/Instrumentation (J3) to perform hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and calibration of PLCs, instrumentation and electrical systems.

This hourly, full-time role features a weekly shift rotation (days and nights) and requires compliance with safety protocols, drug screens, and health assessments.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience in instrumentation and electrical systems.
• Willing to work in industrial conditions with safety training and protection.
• Must pass technical online testing, interview, and hands-on assessment of skills.
• Drug screen and health assessment required.
• Willing to work rotating shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot PLC systems.
• Maintain single loop controls and various field systems.
• Repair final control elements and calibrate instruments.
• Read electrical schematics and P&IDs.
• Adhere to NFPA70E arc flash and shock safety requirements.
