Job summary

Savage is hiring at its St. Charles, LA location for a general labor role focused on safety and efficiency in our coke handling operations. You will maintain conveyor systems, perform routine maintenance, and assist with barge loading and rigging on the Mississippi River.

We seek candidates with a clean history, ability to pass training, and the stamina to work 12-hour shifts on rotating schedules. TWIC card and a high school diploma or GED are required to qualify.

Qualifications

• Clean criminal history and ability to pass hair-follicle drug screen.
• 18 years of age or older.
• Pass the site-specific training on an annual basis.
• Read, write, and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and function of conveyor system for dry bulk products.
• Shovel coke from around sump pumps and under the conveyor.
• Wash down equipment with a 2" firehose or pressure washer.
• Operate skid steer and load Petroleum Coke barges.
• Draft barges with gauging tape and secure them for PLC communication.
