Job summary

Owens & Minor is hiring a Mill Maintenance Technician to join the Mill’s Technical Services Team, responsible for maintenance, repair and reliability improvements of plant assets. The first year includes a 12-hour rotating shift during training.

You will inspect, calibrate, and install hydraulic/pneumatic systems, fabricate and weld as needed, and troubleshoot to provide safe, practical solutions. A 2-year technical degree or 3+ years industrial maintenance is required.

Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree or 3+ years in industrial maintenance
• Experience troubleshooting plant equipment
• Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts
• Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
• Fabrication and welding experience
• Pipe fitting and bearing installation knowledge
• SAP Work Order System a plus
• Good communication and teamwork

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, repair and reliability improvements on plant assets
• Inspect, calibrate, test, adjust and install hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Fabricate and weld components as needed
• Troubleshoot equipment and implement countermeasures
• Support safety and environmental policies
• Work across shifts including day and night during training year
