Job summary

Orion International is seeking a seasoned maintenance leader to head teams in a Southeast Michigan steel operation, ensuring safe, efficient production.

You will oversee preventive maintenance, troubleshoot complex equipment, and coordinate with operations to minimize downtime while driving safety and reliability. Experience supervising maintenance in heavy industry is required, with a competitive compensation package including overtime and benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 2 years of experience supervising maintenance teams in industrial or manufacturing environments.
• Strong mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting skills.
• Proven leadership, problem-solving, and safety-focused decision-making abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop skilled maintenance employees.
• Oversee preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, equipment repairs, and breakdown response.
• Support maintenance of heavy industrial machinery, mechanical drives, hydraulics, bearings, gearboxes, and rolling equipment.
• Make critical decisions to minimize downtime and restore production.
• Drive safety, equipment reliability, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering, and maintenance planning teams.
