Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience in industrial maintenance within a manufacturing environment or military setting.
• Ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain complex manufacturing equipment.
• Ability to read mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical schematics including PLC logic.
• Working knowledge of NFPA 70E electrical safety standards; PLCs and industrial controls experience preferred.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and working off-shift including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Proactively maintain, install, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, robotic/automation, hydraulic, pneumatic systems.
• Install and maintain AC/DC drives, motors, PLCs, and related controls for reliable production.
• Assess equipment issues, determine corrective action, and complete repairs to reduce repeats.
• Conduct root cause analysis and support preventive/predictive maintenance.
• Communicate with operations to identify abnormal equipment conditions impacting safety or production.
• Document maintenance activity in the CMMS for asset history and reliability tracking.
• Maintain 5S and housekeeping in maintenance areas and related spaces.

Position Summary

The Industrial Maintenance Reliability Tech supports maximum plant reliability by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing manufacturing equipment and facility systems. Reporting to the Production Manager, this role uses multi-craft maintenance knowledge to support ThermoSafe’s Maintenance Excellence Process through proactive maintenance, root cause analysis, equipment improvements, and timely corrective action. The IMRT helps minimize unplanned downtime, improve equipment performance, and support safe, reliable, and efficient production operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Understand and comply with all safety policies and procedures while setting the standard for safe behavior and actively identifying opportunities to reduce risks and hazards.
• Proactively maintain, improve, install, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, robotic/automation, hydraulic, pneumatic, and location-specific steam systems, equipment, and processes.
• Install, troubleshoot, and maintain AC and DC drives, motors, PLC programs, industrial controls, and related equipment to support reliable production performance.
• Safely assess equipment issues and failures, determine the most effective corrective action, and complete repairs in a way that reduces repeat failures.
• Conduct root cause analysis, support preventive and predictive maintenance activities, and help improve maintenance procedures to drive toward zero unplanned failures.
• Communicate effectively with operations teams to identify abnormal or degraded equipment conditions that could impact safety, quality, productivity, or asset performance.
• Accurately document maintenance activity in the Computerized Maintenance Management System to support asset history, reliability tracking, and continuous improvement.
• Maintain housekeeping and 5S standards in work areas, personal ownership areas, and areas owned by the Maintenance Department.

Qualifications

• Industrial maintenance experience, relevant industrial environment experience, or military experience preferred.
• Strong proactive maintenance and reliability mindset with the ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain manufacturing equipment.
• Ability to read and understand mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical schematics, including PLC program logic.
• Working knowledge of electrical work performed in compliance with NFPA 70E standards; PLC troubleshooting, industrial controls, and motor controls experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks on an off-shift schedule, work overtime including weekends, and perform physical requirements including lifts, ladders, kneeling, bending, twisting, and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

This position requires regular standing and walking throughout the workday. Employees frequently use their hands and arms to perform job duties and may occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, speak, and hear. The role requires the ability to occasionally lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.

Work is performed in a manufacturing environment that is not temperature controlled. Employees may be exposed to varying indoor temperatures and seasonal conditions typical of an industrial production setting. The work environment may also involve exposure to moving mechanical equipment, chemicals, fumes, airborne particles, and elevated noise levels. The use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including respiratory and hearing protection, may be required based on job assignments and work area conditions.
