Job summary

Bunge in Kearny, New Jersey seeks a Maintenance Planner to optimize workforce productivity by planning materials, procedures, and resources for maintenance work. The role involves ensuring accurate work orders, maintaining records, and enabling timely, cost-efficient maintenance across the plant.

Qualified candidates have 5+ years in plant maintenance (millwright/electrician), blueprint reading skills, strong math, and the ability to visualize jobs to completion.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2 year vocational or technical degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5+ years of progressive experience as a plant maintenance worker, preferably as millwright or electrician.
• Adequate trade knowledge to estimate labor hours and materials and visualize a job to completion.
• Ability to read blueprints and shop drawings.
• Strong mathematical skills.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and screens each work order to ensure proper completion.
• Develops and maintains planned and predictive maintenance procedures.
• Identifies and procures materials, tools, and equipment needed for work.
• Determines stock availability of critical items.
• Estimates cost of each work order including labor and materials and maintains backlog files.
• Develops standard work orders for recurring repair jobs.
• Compares actual vs estimated labor and material usage.
• Conducts informal maintenance training as required.
• Reviews completed work orders for completeness and updates machinery history data.
• Understands proper methods for replacing or maintaining typical mechanical equipment.
