Job summary

CLW Foods is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic PM for the Los Angeles area on second shift. You will perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on plant equipment to ensure product safety and quality.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 3+ years in industrial machine maintenance, and experience with PLCs, VFDs, and food-processing equipment. Travel up to 25% and work in a cold environment are expected.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required; Journeyman training beneficial.
• 3+ years of industrial machine maintenance experience.
• Large food equipment repair experience.
• Basic forklift and pallet jack maintenance.
• 3+ years with Vemag, Formax, Repak and MultiVak equipment.
• 3+ years with PLC/Motor Controls/VFD; Allen Bradley, Siemens & GE Fanuc.
• 2+ years of food-grade welding experience.
• Strong knowledge of conveyor metal detection systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and basic logic issues.
• Experience with maintenance work order systems.
• Understanding of ammonia refrigeration and compressed air systems.

Responsibilities

• Meets plant objectives in safety, quality, cost and customer care.
• Provides technical support for troubleshooting and maintenance to maximize efficiencies and limit downtime.
• Maintains and repairs equipment including pumps, motors, conveyors and more.
• Troubleshoots PLCs and motor controls.
• Responds quickly to service calls and repairs electrical and mechanical issues.
• Reads manuals to understand equipment and controls.
• Performs tests and runs initial batches to ensure smooth operation.
• Cleans and lubricates equipment; tests malfunctioning machinery for major repairs.
• Executes preventative, predictive and scheduled maintenance.
• Adheres to GMPs and safety; performs other duties as directed by supervisor.

SUMMARY

Maintenance Mechanic PM - Performs scheduled/unscheduled maintenance and installation tasks on the physical plant, equipment and machinery, according to standards. Position requires demonstration of competency for all on-the-job activities that may have a direct or indirect impact on product safety, legality and/or quality.

JOB RESPONSIBILTIES

• Meets plant objectives in safety, quality, cost and customer care.
• Provides technical support for efficient troubleshooting / problem solving activities and maintenance repair to maximize efficiencies and limit downtime.
• Maintains and repairs all equipment in operation which includes pumps, motors, conveyors, and much more.
• Troubleshoots PLC’s.
• Respond quickly to service calls.
• Maintains and repairs electrical and mechanical issues.
• Reads technical manuals to understand equipment and controls.
• Performs tests and runs initial batches to make sure that the machine is running smoothly.
• Cleans and lubricates equipment or machinery.
• Tests malfunctioning machinery to determine whether major repairs are needed.
• Preventative, predictive and scheduled maintenance.
• Floor visibility during machine run times
• Adherence to GMP’s and safety.
• Performs other duties as directed by supervisor.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required, College or Technical Education from accredited institutions preferred, Journeyman’s training is beneficial.
• 3+ years’ experience in industrial machine maintenance.
• Large food equipment repair experience.
• Basic forklift (stand & sit) and pallet jack maintenance.
• 3+ years of working experience with Vemag, Formax, Repak and MultiVak food processing equipment.
• 3+ years of working experience with PLC/Motor Controls/VFD knowledge, Allen Bradley, Siemens & GE Fanuc.
• 2+ years of working experience food grade welding skills.
• Strong knowledge of conveyor metal detection systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and basic logic issues.
• Ability to troubleshoot labeling and taping equipment.
• Experience with tooling and basic machine shop equipment.
• Knowledge of maintenance work order systems.
• Understanding of ammonia refrigeration and compressed air systems.
• Daily inspection of critical equipment and devices.
• Strong mechanical, analytical and solution driven skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication ability.
• Experience with automation, conveyors.
• Must be able to work in cold environments where the machines are located.
