Job summary

The Maintenance Mechanic at Brown and Root External maintains, repairs, and troubleshoots mechanical systems and equipment in a papermill. You will read blueprints, identify material needs, and ensure work aligns with plant safety standards and procedures.

Responsibilities include servicing pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, and other rotating equipment; dismantling and repairing parts with welding, grinding, and lathe work; performing preventive maintenance and keeping accurate records.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of industrial maintenance experience in manufacturing or papermill settings.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and rotating equipment.
• Ability to read technical documents and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and manuals to determine scope and specs.
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, and rotating equipment.
• Dismantle machinery and replace bearings, seals, shafts, gaskets, motors.
• Perform preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Align and calibrate machines with dial indicators and laser tools.
• Fabricate parts using welders, grinders, and lathes.
• Maintain maintenance records and complete work orders promptly.
• Coordinate with operations and maintenance teams, follow safety rules.
