Job summary

Fleenor Paper in Houston, TX is seeking a Maintenance Technician responsible for safe and efficient maintenance, repair, installation and removal of equipment in the facility. You will partner with plant leaders to meet business objectives and manage all activities of the Maintenance department.

The role requires responding to breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, operating forklifts, complying with safety procedures, and contributing to plant efficiency.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Two (4) years experience in maintenance or related position.
• Experience in paper manufacturing preferred.
• Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain it.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with employees at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and inform management of downtime.
• Install, remove equipment and perform preventive maintenance.
• Drive forklift to move materials on site.
• Maintain forklift maintenance including tune-ups and inspections.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures and hazardous materials handling.
• Document safety, OSHA records and work orders.
• Lead improvement projects to enhance efficiency and safety.
• Maintain clean, organized work areas and adhere to company policies.
