Job summary

USG Corporation in Weirton, WV is seeking a maintenance technician to perform troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on industrial equipment, following manuals and specs. You will work with a team to keep production lines running and support safety and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities include using hand and power tools, cranes/hoist, and rigging equipment; adapting to shift work and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform assigned repair and servicing tasks.
• Willingness to work the assigned schedule.
• Understand and follow plant safety rules and programs.
• Meet the essential physical requirements of the position.
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
• Understand verbal and written instructions from supervision.

Responsibilities

• Comply with all safety and housekeeping rules.
• Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance to keep equipment operating efficiently.
• Become familiar with plant work order system.
• Proficient in using hand and power tools, cranes/hoist, rigging equipment, welders, fall restraint.
• Work as part of a team, communicating and cooperating to achieve results.
• Take an active role in plant safety and continuous improvement initiatives as required.
• Adapt to scheduling requirements including shiftwork and overtime when applicable.
