Industrial Maintenance Mechanic 3rd Shift

Job Summary

The Maintenance Mechanic maintains, troubleshoots, repairs, and improves equipment used in plastics and metals operations. Ensures good housekeeping and adherence to safety policies on assigned shifts.

Essential Functions

1. Perform preventive maintenance as scheduled to reduce downtime and reactively repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
2. Identify and implement equipment improvements through troubleshooting.
3. Disassemble, repair, and reassemble machinery.
4. Collaborate with team members and operators to meet production goals.
5. Manage start-up and shut-down of production equipment.
6. Inspect equipment to verify proper operation.
7. Operate forklifts safely.
8. Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.

Training and Ability Requirements

• Follow all safety rules and understand SDS and ISO standards relevant to the role.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic maintenance; electrical skills are a plus.
• Minimum of 3 years in an industrial or manufacturing maintenance role.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as climbing, pulling, pushing, and bending.
• Wear appropriate PPE such as safety glasses, steel-toe boots, and high-visibility clothing.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

Standing, sitting, walking, bending, reaching, grasping, and lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds. Work may be indoors or outdoors, with exposure to seasonal temperatures.
