Description

Industrial Maintenance Mechanic performs repairs on equipment and systems related to the operation. Implements, oversees, and keeps records for the Preventive Maintenance Program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Aids in the operation of the Company’s Preventive Maintenance Program.
2. Troubleshoots and repairs equipment necessary for the operation.
3. Maintains an orderly and complete inventory of repair parts and supplies essential to plant operations.
4. Identifies and reports repairs needed on off-production shifts.
5. Evaluates assigned projects and determines supplies required to complete the job.
6. Adheres to all Safety and Good Manufacturing Practices of the food manufacturing industry.
7. Keeps the maintenance work area clean and organized.
8. Performs additional duties as requested by the Maintenance Supervisor or upper management.
9. Performs electrical repairs and maintenance.
10. Looks for ways to improve production efficiencies and reports ideas to department heads.
11. Follows all duties requested by supervisors or upper management.
12. Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
13. Reads, writes, and performs basic math operations.
14. Requires 3-5 years minimum experience in industrial maintenance, specializing in industrial electrical controls; experience in food packaging preferred.

Qualifications

Industrial Maintenance Mechanic Qualifications: Knowledge of safe operation of hand tools and test equipment, at least one year experience in production and facility maintenance, pneumatics, motor controls, relays, basic electrical skills, and PLC troubleshooting. PLC certification and programming skills are a plus.

Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent; formal mechanical and electrical training is a plus.

Language Skills: Excellent communication skills required for interdepartmental interfacing and reporting.

Mathematical Skills: Basic math skills, including working with fractions, decimals, and metric measurements.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to prioritize and handle demands effectively.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Recent mechanical training for production equipment preferred.

Physical Demands: Fast-paced environment with some extended hours.
