This position is fully onsite at our client’s plant in Philadelphia, PA. Candidates must be able to work our client’s second shift hours. Laundered uniforms are a benefit for this position.

Job Description:

We are currently looking for an experienced Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to keep up our client’s level of commitment to safety and customer service. As a Maintenance Mechanic, you are directly responsible for maintaining and repairing machinery, equipment, and systems in a food processing environment.

Responsibilities:

• Visually inspect machinery/equipment for defects such as breakage or excessive wear.
• Repairing production or processing equipment.
• Specialize in troubleshooting and repairing modern automated equipment.
• Troubleshoots and analyzes complex problems and implements proper remedies while ensuring that all safety guidelines and regulations are adhered to when repairing or maintaining equipment.
• Listen for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunctions.
• Collaborate with other maintenance technicians and engineering staff to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
• Dismantle defective machines and equipment and install new or repaired parts.
• Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery and equipment.
• Maintain operations of systems such as pneumatic, hydraulic, ammonia, etc.
• Install and repair electrical apparatus, such as transformers, breakers, switches, receptacles, wiring, and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
• Repair, replace, and maintain the physical structure of equipment.
• Operate cutting torches or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
• Preventative maintenance of equipment.
• Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
• Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
• Working with Material Handling Equipment daily.
• Fast-paced work environment with, in, and around industrial machinery.
• Flexibility to work overtime including weekends when necessary.
• Capability to bend, twist, and squat as needed throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds without reasonable assistance.
• Must be able to frequently push, pull, kneel, bend, and reach with both arms.
• Ability to work in a refrigerated environment. Production rooms are kept at a constant 32 degrees (and below in certain areas). Ability to withstand cold storage temps for extended periods of time.
