Maintenance Manager

FLSA STATUS:

Non-Exempt

WAGE CLASS:

Class V (Night Shift - $31.50/hr, Day Shift - $28.50/hr) - (effective 6/24/24)

HIRING BONUS:

$1250.00

POSITION PURPOSE:

Maintains production and quality by ensuring the operation of industrial machinery and mechanical and electrical equipment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Execute projects as directed by Maintenance Management and Plant Operations.
2. Maintain equipment and facilities with particular attention to Food Safety including:
   • Instrument calibration
   • Maintenance of product contact surfaces
   • Participate in Operations Food Safety Training
   • Monitor food safety related instrumentation
   • Work closely with Quality on development and implementation of HACCP, GMP, SQF, and other product safety programs
3. Ensure operation of machinery (both electrical and mechanical) by completing preventive maintenance on equipment motors, drives, conveyor systems, and high-speed food production machines, following diagrams, manuals, and specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
4. Locate sources of problems by observing devices, listening for issues, and using testing instruments.
5. Remove defective parts by dismantling devices, using hand and power tools, and examining parts.
6. Determine changes in dimensional requirements by inspecting parts with measuring instruments.
7. Adjust functional parts of devices using hand tools, levels, and straightedges.
8. Control downtime by informing workers of preventive maintenance and monitoring compliance.
9. Fabricate repair parts using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
10. Maintain inventory by checking stock levels, anticipating needs, and managing orders.
11. Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies efficiently.
12. Provide maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
13. Prepare reports by analyzing and summarizing maintenance data and trends.
14. Maintain technical knowledge through training, publications, and networking.
15. Document and communicate actions, irregularities, and needs to ensure team continuity.
16. Maintain a safe and clean work environment by following procedures and regulations.
17. Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
18. Perform other duties as assigned.
19. Supply basic maintenance tools.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED:

Equipment Maintenance, Technical Understanding, Technical Zeal, dealing with Uncertainty, Basic Safety, Power Tools, Attention to Detail, Flexibility, Supervision, Job Knowledge, Productivity.
