Job summary

Tapecon, Inc. in New York state is seeking a maintenance technician to ensure optimum operation of production equipment and facility systems.

You will perform preventative and corrective maintenance, monitor equipment, and maintain logs and spare parts inventory to maximize manufacturing efficiency. The role requires ability to read blueprints, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems, and train operators on proper maintenance practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Mechanical and electrical aptitude with ability to read simple drawings.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret basic specifications.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment and mechanical systems.
• Observe machinery in operation to identify causes of malfunction.
• Dismantle equipment to access and remove defective components.
• Adjust mechanical devices and control instruments.
• Install structural and functional parts on machinery.
• Operate and test equipment to verify performance.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and pneumatic systems to minimize downtime.
• Maintain maintenance records and coordinate with contractors on major repairs.
• Train operators on daily, weekly or monthly maintenance practices.
