We are seeking a Maintenance Manager for an industrial adhesive manufacturer located in Mesquite, TX. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, you will oversee maintenance operations, reliability initiatives, and capital projects for a facility producing food-grade hot melt adhesive in a 24/7 manufacturing environment. This position is ideal for a hands‑on leader who excels at troubleshooting alongside their team while simultaneously coaching, delegating, and fostering a collaborative relationship with production departments.
Operating in Mesquite for five decades, this 70-year-old facility balances legacy equipment from the 1970s and 80s with modern robotic palletizers and packaging lines. The majority of the machinery is standard, well‑maintained, and supported by ongoing capital improvement projects. As a flagship site for the company, the facility has consistently set performance records over the last 18 months, drawing frequent attention from executive leadership. The culture is defined by strong camaraderie and an employee‑centric approach, featuring regular team‑building events. Furthermore, the site maintains a rigorous safety standard, supported by a dedicated EHS manager who actively collaborates with the maintenance team on fall prevention and lockout/tagout procedures.
You are a servant leader with 5–7 years of experience in maintenance management or supervision. With a strong technical background, you are capable of guiding your team through complex breakdowns without needing to perform the repairs yourself, focusing instead on developing your staff. You excel at building bridges between maintenance and production, prioritizing collaborative problem‑solving over blame. As a patient and data‑driven professional, you take the time to understand your team's strengths and the facility's unique equipment before implementing new strategies to drive results.
Your initial months will be dedicated to understanding the team dynamics, existing processes, and equipment history. By the six‑month mark, you will begin to implement refined Lean practices and CMMS improvements at a sustainable pace. You will have full support from site leadership and experienced engineering staff as you transition into your new responsibilities.
