Job summary

Aiken Technical College invites applications for an Industrial Maintenance Technology Instructor (Mechanical Systems). The successful candidate will teach Industrial Maintenance Technology courses, provide academic advisement, and participate in recruiting and retention efforts.

Courses may meet evenings, weekends, or online, and a split schedule may be required. Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in a related field or an Associate’s degree with demonstrated competencies in the

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or an Associate’s Degree with teaching competencies.
Related work experience demonstrating knowledge in mechanical installations, bearings, drives, hydraulics and pneumatics.
Associate’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology with four years of related mechanical experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

Teach courses as assigned in accordance with syllabi.
Prepare, review and maintain courses and programs, syllabi, and instructional materials.
Demonstrate appropriate course and classroom management.
Provides academic guidance, assists students in developing personal, academic and professional plans, and engages in recruitment and retention efforts.
Participate in College activities and projects and promote the College through community service.
Participate in activities to develop teaching performance and qualifications.
