General Summary
This position is responsible to perform a variety of mechanical and basic electrical maintenance and repair work on plant equipment including: Disamatic molding machines, shot blast machines, furnaces, pumps, fans, gear boxes, shafts, belts, water and air lines, valves, motors, electrical panels, generators, etc.
Essential Functions
- Troubleshoot, maintain and repair foundry related systems and equipment.
- Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
- Ensure all work areas remain clean and free of safety hazards
- Performs preventive maintenance in accordance with required program.
- Operates a variety of standard hand tools and power tools (drills, lathes, grinders, saws, etc.) and other related equipment (welding) to make necessary repairs.
- Install machinery and electrical systems to support a variety of foundry related equipment.
- Read and understand schematics, blueprints, manuals, etc. to perform required work.
- Required to inspect the premises regularly, conduct routine maintenance, perform repairs when necessary.
- Document and maintain records of inspections, maintenance, and repairs
- Comply with all safety and PPE requirements as identified in plant protocols.
- May be assigned other duties as needed.
Experience Required
- Minimum of three (3) years Industrial Maintenance experience required.
- Prior knowledge of green sand foundry practices, principles and equipment preferred.
Education & Skills Required
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Industrial Maintenance courses/journeyman preferred.
