Job summary
Catalyx is seeking a Machine Vision Engineer to join our team in Belgium. You will lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced machine vision systems for industrial automation projects, collaborating with customers, sales, and engineering to deliver production-ready solutions.
The ideal candidate has a degree in engineering, hands-on experience with Cognex/OpenCV, and programming skills in C++, Python, or C#.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial or Computer Engineering from an accredited institution (vision component preferred).
- Availability to work evening and weekend hours or varying work patterns depending on project needs.
- Availability to travel domestically and internationally.
Responsibilities
- Define scope with customers and sales leadership.
- Design optical configurations for inspection requirements per environment.
- Perform sample testing and POCs to verify designs.
- Own design and development of machine vision systems for projects.
- Conceptualize and confirm technical specs and BOMs.
- Oversee equipment assessment, ordering, and verification.
- Ensure designs meet Catalyx and industry standards.
- Support development, testing, and installation to production readiness.
- Serve as primary technical contact for system design.
- Act as escalation point during build/test/warranty.
- Participate in rotating weekly SLA support schedule.
- Collaborate on procurement, training, and tech meetings.
- Meet vendors to confirm components; stay updated on tech.
- Analyze procedures and help create design/technical docs.
