Job summary

Torrey Holistics is seeking a diligent machinist/operator to own setup, tooling, and machine operation on a daily shift. You will verify performance, adjust controls, and ensure safety and quality as parts are produced.

Responsibilities include securing workpieces, monitoring machine performance, and communicating status during shifts. Attention to detail and adherence to procedures ensure consistent production and timely documentation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and operate tools, machinery, and equipment per instructions and specifications.
• Choose, place, and firmly secure all required tools.
• Position and clamp workpieces on machine tables or holding devices using clamps and wrenches.
• Monitor each machine closely to confirm quality performance.
• Set and fine-tune controls to regulate machine operation.
• Inspect tooling routinely; repair or replace when necessary.
• Validate machine readiness and performance against specifications, including fixtures, cutting speeds, and feed rates.
• Alert the immediate supervisor to any problems as soon as they arise.
• Serve as the department communicator in status meetings, management updates, and at shift change.
• Maintain equipment in a condition that never compromises safety.
• Deliver work that is safe, consistent, and aligned with quality standards.
• Identify, tag, and remove any nonconforming materials.
• Complete all required paperwork accurately and on time.
• Coordinate effectively with other departments when needed.
• Keep work areas clean and well organized.
• Comply with all company rules and policies.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
