Job summary

Prysmian Group in Indianapolis seeks experienced Machine Operators for full-time second and third shifts to produce compounds used in cable manufacturing. You will work in a 12-hour shift cycle on a 2-2-3 schedule, joining a team of 6–7 operators under a team coordinator in a busy production area.

Expect physically demanding work: standing on concrete, lifting 50–55 pounds, and exposure to hot environments. PPE is provided, and a strong safety culture is emphasized.

Qualifications

• Basic reading, writing, arithmetic, and computer skills.
• Ability to communicate and work effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to regularly lift 50–55 pounds and frequently navigate a multi-level facility, including stairs.
• Ability to safely operate and learn equipment, including forklifts.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine production activities to keep production flowing.
• Report process changes and system issues.
• Perform cleanouts following appropriate procedures.
• Ensure materials, systems, and tooling are ready for upcoming runs.
• Assist with daily cleaning and housekeeping for safety and quality.
• Cooperate with team to maintain organization.
• Perform quality testing and make corrections as needed.
• Identify and communicate safety hazards.
• Update systems during production.
