Job Description – Industrial Sewing Machine Operator
Need two (2) people for this role: need one (1) person on days 6:00AM to 4:30PM / and need one (1) person on nights 8:00PM to 6:30AM
Shift pattern: FRIDAY/SATURDAY/SUNDAY - AND ONE ADDITIONAL DAY DURING WEEK TO GET TO 40 HOURS.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operating and Maintaining Machines: Setting up, operating, and troubleshooting industrial sewing machines to meet production standards.
- Reading and Interpreting Instructions: Understanding work orders, patterns, and technical documents to ensure accurate sewing.
- Material Selection: Choosing the right fabric, thread, and needles for specific projects.
- Quality Control: Inspecting finished products for defects and making adjustments to machines as needed.
- Production Targets: Meeting production quotas and deadlines, ensuring efficiency and output.
- Maintenance: Performing routine maintenance and minor repairs on machines.
- Work Area Management: Keeping the work area organized and clean.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Technical Skills: Ability to become proficient in operating industrial sewing machines, including multi-head machines.
- Knowledge of Fabrics and Textiles: Understanding different types of fabrics and their characteristics.
- Attention to Detail: Ensuring accuracy and quality in sewing.
- Problem-Solving: Identifying and resolving machine issues or quality problems.
- Physical Dexterity: Good eye-hand coordination and the ability to lift and handle materials up to 50 lbs.
- The ability to climb a ladder, as well as fit into small spaces to perform maintenance.
- Communication Skills: Willingness to communicate with team about any issues.
