Job summary

Vestis Corporation in Chicago, IL seeks a hands-on Maintenance Technician to lead and execute preventive maintenance in a high-volume laundry facility. You will troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, perform basic plumbing, and ensure safety protocols are followed on a tight schedule.

Role requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, operate hand and power tools, and work within a team to maintain equipment uptime. Shift 5am-2pm M-F, with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years supervisory experience preferred.
• 1–3 years mechanical experience required.
• 1–3 years electromechanical experience preferred.
• 2–4 years of related experience in mechanical troubleshooting, maintenance, and/or installation.
• Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, HazMat procedures and regulations helpful.
• Excellent mechanical dexterity and ability.

Responsibilities

• Maintains all plant equipment including high volume industrial washers and/or dryers.
• Repairs, replaces equipment when necessary.
• Performs basic plumbing, mechanical, and electrical work.
• Troubleshoots and solves technical issues by following manuals and schematics.
• Orders necessary parts, tools, and equipment per procurement policy.
• Maintains a proper daily schedule control for equipment maintenance and preventative maintenance records.
• Performs wastewater equipment maintenance and housekeeping practices.
• Maintains safe and clean work environment and follows safety practices.
• Assists maintenance manager in assigning work tasks and training of maintenance personnel.
