Job summary

Surfside Laundry in Foley, AL is seeking a dedicated Custodian to maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary laundry facility. You will perform routine cleaning, sanitation, and housekeeping throughout the plant, supporting safety standards and operational efficiency.

You must follow PPE requirements and safety policies, work independently, and handle cleaning equipment and chemicals. Prior custodial or janitorial experience is preferred; high school diploma preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in custodial, janitorial, housekeeping, or industrial cleaning preferred.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize restrooms, breakrooms, offices, entrances, and other common areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors throughout the facility.
• Empty trash and recycling containers and dispose of waste properly.
• Clean windows, doors, walls, equipment exteriors, and other surfaces as assigned.
• Restock restroom and breakroom supplies including soap, paper towels, toilet paper, and cleaning materials.
• Maintain cleanliness of locker rooms and employee common areas.
• Ensure walkways, entrances, and exits remain clean and free of hazards.
• Follow all company safety policies, sanitation procedures, and PPE requirements.
• Identify and report facility maintenance issues, safety concerns, or damaged equipment to management.
• Safely operate cleaning equipment and use approved cleaning chemicals.
• Assist with special cleaning projects as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
