Job summary

Surfside Laundry in Foley, AL is seeking a dependable Custodian to maintain a clean, safe laundry facility by performing routine cleaning, sanitation, and housekeeping tasks throughout the plant.

You will follow safety procedures, use cleaning chemicals correctly, and report maintenance issues to management. Prior custodial or janitorial experience is preferred to ensure efficiency and quality of work in a busy production environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous custodial, janitorial, housekeeping, or industrial cleaning experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize restrooms, breakrooms, offices, entrances, and other common areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors throughout the facility.
• Empty trash and recycling containers and dispose of waste properly.
• Clean windows, doors, walls, equipment exteriors, and other surfaces as assigned.
• Restock restroom and breakroom supplies including soap, paper towels, toilet paper, and cleaning materials.
• Maintain cleanliness of locker rooms and employee common areas.
• Ensure walkways, entrances, and exits remain clean and free of hazards.
• Follow all company safety policies, sanitation procedures, and PPE requirements.
• Identify and report facility maintenance issues, safety concerns, or damaged equipment to management.
• Safely operate cleaning equipment and use approved cleaning chemicals.
• Assist with special cleaning projects as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Position Summary

The Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary laundry facility by performing routine cleaning, sanitation, and housekeeping duties throughout the plant. This position helps ensure compliance with company safety standards, cleanliness requirements, and operational efficiency by maintaining all work areas, restrooms, offices, breakrooms, and common areas.

• Ability to safely use cleaning equipment and tools.

Work Environment

This position works in an industrial laundry facility and may be exposed to moving equipment, varying temperatures, cleaning chemicals, and moderate to high noise levels. Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as required.
