Job summary

Siemens in Wendell, NC is seeking an Industrial Edge & Manufacturing Data Engineer to partner with production, engineering and IT teams. You will design data models, build edge-to-cloud pipelines and help deploy secure, scalable connectivity across U.S. facilities.

The role requires hands-on experience with MQTT, OPC UA, Kafka, Node-RED and Snowflake, plus travel up to 20%. You will validate data, document standards, and collaborate with global teams to enable smarter manufacturing and analytics

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field.
3+ years in industrial connectivity, IIoT, or manufacturing data environments.
Familiarity with MQTT and OPC UA protocols.
Experience with Kafka, Node-RED and data ingestion in edge-to-cloud setups.
Experience with Snowflake data models and data ingestion.

Responsibilities

Identify data requirements with manufacturing and operations stakeholders.
Configure and support shop-floor connectivity using Siemens Edge technologies.
Develop and maintain equipment-to-cloud data pipelines (Kafka, Node-RED, MQTT, OPC UA).
Create and validate data models for reliable edge-to-cloud data delivery.
Coordinate with cybersecurity, IT, and global teams for secure deployments.
Document deployment standards and support procedures.
