Job summary

DORN Companies is seeking a Part-Time Injury Prevention Specialist (1099 Contractor) in Kansas City, KS to deliver ergonomic training and body mechanics coaching with flexible, gig-based hours.

You will assess risks at client sites, provide first aid as needed, document activities in DORN systems, and collaborate with safety teams. Licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant is required; Athletic Trainer, PT, OT, OTA or PTA credentials are preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: Certificate, Bachelor’s, or Master’s degree in a relevant field.
• Experience: 2–4 years in injury prevention or related field, industrial setting preferred.
• State Licensure: Licensed in your state as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
• Documentation: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and detailed reporting.
• Liability: Active professional liability insurance required on hire.
• Compliance: Must meet drug screening and background check requirements.

Responsibilities

• Body Mechanics Coaching: Guide employees on proper body mechanics and self-care techniques.
• Risk Assessment & Solutions: Assess risks with site management and safety teams and implement prevention strategies.
• First Aid Application: Provide first aid services as needed.
• Documentation: Maintain detailed records using DORN systems.
• Employee Surveys: Gather feedback on impact of services delivered.
• Reporting: Communicate findings weekly and as needed to client teams and DORN management.
