Job summary

OxyChem in California is seeking a Maintenance Technician with strong instrumentation, electrical and HVAC knowledge to join our plant operations. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose control problems, repair equipment, and support safety and environmental programs in a fast-paced chemical manufacturing environment.

Requirements include high school or GED, an associate degree or NCCER/EPA 608 certifications, proficiency with SAP and MS Office, and the ability to lift 40 lbs, work

Qualifications

• Minimum high school education or GED with relevant technical inclination.
• Desire to work safely and adhere to HSSE policies.
• Experience with electrical, instrumentation and HVAC maintenance is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain environmental safety and protect people and equipment.
• Install, troubleshoot, repair and perform preventive maintenance on plant instrumentation, controls and electrical equipment.
• Diagnose problems quickly and consult vendors as needed.
• Set up shop tools and testing equipment for maintenance activities.
• Repair power distribution, PLCs, DCS software and related systems.
• Test and calibrate sensors, transmitters and control valves.
• Maintain PM databases and update drawings and PMs.
• Collaborate with supervision and scheduling on work orders.
