Job summary

Bakelite seeks an Instrumentation and Electrical (I&E) Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, instrumentation, and process control equipment in our industrial chemical operations. You will help keep operations safe, reliable, and compliant with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

Based in the Conway area, you will collaborate with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or certification preferred.
1–2 years’ experience as an I&E Technician in an industrial manufacturing environment; chemical or continuous process experience preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of industrial electrical systems, instrumentation calibration, and control systems.
Ability to read P&IDs, control narratives, cause-and-effect diagrams, and electrical drawings.

Responsibilities

Install, maintain, troubleshoot electrical equipment including motors, MCCs, switchgear, transformers, VFDs, lighting, and power distribution systems.
Diagnose and repair electrical faults in low- and medium-voltage systems and interpret electrical diagrams.
Install, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot field instrumentation including pressure, temperature, flow, and level transmitters.
Maintain and troubleshoot plant process control systems including DCS, PLCs, HMIs, and I/O; support tuning and optimization.
