Job Description

An Industrial Hygienist conducts work on more complex sites with greater independence.

• Conduct and oversee exposure assessments, healthcare compliance, Environmental Health and Safety, or other industrial hygiene work and project assignments as appropriate.
• Collect samples from project sites and deliver to third-party laboratories for analysis, maintaining strict chain of custody.
• Coordinate work activities across multiple project functions to ensure timely delivery.
• Monitor projects and oversee third-party contractors.
• Prepare proposals, detailed exposure monitoring assessments, clearance reports, indoor air quality assessments, safety assessments, and other technical reports, including accurate data and visuals.
• Maintain communication of project progress with the project manager and clients from start to finish.
• Maintain assessment and monitoring equipment.
• Prepare Health and Safety Plans/Job Safety Analyses for sites.
• Meet utilization and performance metrics as assigned.
• Maintain professional licensure and certifications in good standing.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science or related field.
• At least 1 year of experience managing industrial hygiene projects.
• Certifications such as CIH, CSP, CMC, or CIEC recognized nationally or by the state.
• Health and Safety Certification and Medical Monitoring compliant with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120 (HAZWOPER 40 Hour).
• OSHA 10 or 30-hour training.

Knowledge and Skills

• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong project management and technical writing skills.
• Ability to multitask and handle fast-paced conditions.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Willingness to travel regionally up to 100%, including overnight and extended stays.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Physical Requirements & Additional Qualifications

• Walk on job sites, sometimes on uneven terrain, and climb ladders.
• Carry testing equipment (up to 30 pounds).
• Participate in medical monitoring programs as required.
