Job description

A global chemical and advanced materials manufacturer is seeking an Industrial Hygiene Technician to support occupational health and safety initiatives across manufacturing facilities and research laboratories throughout North America. Working remotely, this person will play a key role in identifying, evaluating, and helping control workplace health hazards while partnering with operations, engineering, and EHS professionals. The Role:

• Conduct industrial hygiene monitoring activities including air sampling, exposure assessments, noise surveys, heat stress evaluations, ventilation assessments, and ergonomic reviews across manufacturing and laboratory environments.
• Operate, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot industrial hygiene equipment such as gas detection instruments, particulate monitors, sound level meters, and noise dosimeters.
• Perform regular field assessments to identify workplace health hazards, evaluate existing controls, and provide practical recommendations to improve employee protection.
• Support occupational health initiatives including respiratory protection, hearing conservation, hazard communication, medical surveillance, exposure investigations, and regulatory compliance activities.
• Maintain monitoring records and databases while assisting with exposure reporting, employee notifications, documentation, and support during outages, turnaround events, and other non-routine operations.

The Candidate:

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Chemistry, or a closely related discipline.
• Approximately 2-5 years of experience in industrial hygiene, occupational health, or EHS within a manufacturing, chemical processing, refining, or similar industrial environment.
• Experience using industrial hygiene sampling equipment and direct-reading instruments, along with a working knowledge of OSHA exposure standards and occupational health regulations.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to interpret monitoring results, prepare technical reports, and collaborate effectively with site personnel and leadership teams.
• Comfortable working in industrial settings, wearing required PPE including respiratory protection, and traveling extensively throughout the United States, Canada, and internationally.
