Job summary

JLL in Mobile, AL is seeking an Operating Engineer (HVAC) to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair large-scale industrial HVAC systems supporting manufacturing and hangar operations.

The role requires strong technical expertise, ability to read drawings, coordinate with service providers, and adhere to safety and documentation practices. This on-site position offers comprehensive benefits and the chance to contribute to critical facilities operations.

Qualifications

• 6-8 years of experience maintaining and repairing industrial or commercial HVAC systems.
• Ability to analyze HVAC system operation, diagnose malfunctions, and implement corrective actions.
• Working knowledge of industrial HVAC systems and controls (chilled water, hot water, DX).
• Ability to read and interpret HVAC drawings, P&IDs, control schematics, and manuals.
• Experience supporting continuous-operation or mission-critical facilities.
• EPA 608 Type II Certification.
• High School Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, monitoring, and repairs of industrial HVAC, mechanical, and control systems.
• Operate AHUs, chillers, cooling towers, boilers, and related environmental control systems.
• Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance including inspection, calibration, and parts replacement.
• Monitor system performance, record readings, and adjust operations as needed.
• Troubleshoot controls, sensors, actuators, and automation interfaces.
• Coordinate outsourced HVAC maintenance and specialty service providers.
• Maintain preventive maintenance programs and equipment documentation.
• Ensure safe storage and disposal of hazardous materials per policy.
• Perform periodic checks of tools and instrumentation.
• Work in environments with heat, cold, noise, and varying shifts.
