Job summary

United Central Industrial Supply, a SunSource company, seeks a Hose Technician to support hose, pipe and gasket manufacturing and servicing for customers across North America. The role bridges sales and production, promoting product knowledge and delivering technical solutions.

You will learn end-use requirements, develop manufacturing improvements, train staff, and troubleshoot customer needs. A technical degree or equivalent experience and strong communication are required.

Qualifications

• College degree (technical-related field preferred) or equivalent experience.
• Intimate understanding of the hose/pipe/gasket business and the specialized/technical equipment used to assemble/manufacture said products.
• Specific knowledge and expertise with the “specific product” groups.
• Possess effective written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as an intermediary between sales and production to promote product knowledge and facilitate the overall sales process.
• Learn end-use product requirements and provide/suggest innovative technical solutions to individual customer problems.
• Develop technical solutions to product manufacturing issues. Improve and streamline the hose and gasket manufacturing process. Evaluate new tools in the manufacture of said products.
• Oversee manufacturing employees and train staff in assembly/manufacture procedures; prepare training materials.
• Visit customer sites to troubleshoot problems and evaluate customer needs.
