Job summary

Clean Harbors is seeking an Industrial Heavy Equipment Mechanic for our Aragonite, UT incineration facility. You’ll diagnose issues on heavy mobile equipment and maintain processing assets like conveyors and kilns, ensuring safe, compliant operation.

You’ll work on-site with a safety-first mindset, documenting tests and validating fixes before returning equipment to service. This role requires hands-on welding, hydraulic repair, and familiarity with control systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Industrial maintenance background with hands-on experience in heavy equipment repair.
• Proficiency with hydraulic system diagnosis and repair; experience with compressors and conveyors.
• Ability to weld and use cutting torches safely.
• Comfort with computers and control systems; exposure to electronics and current industry tech.
• Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills; safety-minded at all times.
• Willingness to work overtime; DOT training preferred/required per role.
• Physical capabilities: lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, reach overhead with good hand–eye coordination.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, disassemble, reassemble, and repair equipment to fix defects.
• Maintain and repair conveyors, compressors, hydraulic circuits, kilns, boilers, and related electrical components.
• Fabricate parts, cut metal, and replace gaskets; perform welding as needed.
• Identify root causes of malfunctions and complete corrective repairs.
• Test and verify performance post-repair to ensure reliable operation.
• Pitch in with additional maintenance duties as assigned.

Keep critical systems moving at Clean Harbors AragonitePicture your day beginning at our Aragonite, UT incineration facility, where you’re the go-to mechanic for heavy mobile equipment and plant systems that keep our operation safe and efficient. You’ll split time between diagnosing issues on yellow iron and maintaining industrial processing assets like conveyors, compressors, hydraulics, kilns, and boilers.
