Job summary

Economy Polymers & Chemicals is hiring a Gate Checker in Houston to manage gate access for trucks, visitors, and internal staff. The role supports safe, efficient movement of units and materials while completing inspections, recording data, and coordinating with operations and maintenance teams.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and able to read SDS, BOLs, COAs, and related paperwork.

Qualifications

• Detail-oriented with strong paperwork and record-keeping
• Ability to read SDS, BOLs, and COAs
• Willingness to follow safety and processing procedures
• Capable of learning site-specific procedures and training requirements

Responsibilities

• Manage movement of trucks and authorized visitors into and out of the facility
• Verify driver, truck, load, and visitor information before granting access
• Check in/out using the tracking system and review daily schedules
• Record truck weights and inspect units and loads prior to movement
• Coordinate with multiple teams to keep traffic, inspections, and shipments moving
• Provide hands-on support to Maintenance and assist with valve/pigtail replacements as needed
• Perform inspections and document results, reporting discrepancies promptly
• Maintain organized gate area and ensure compliance with safety protocols
