Job summary

The Home Depot is seeking a Maintenance Technician - Forklift Repair in Chicago, IL. You will troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair forklifts and material-handling equipment to minimize downtime and support operations.

You’ll perform preventative maintenance, report equipment status, and follow safety guidelines to ensure a safe, efficient warehouse environment. A trade school degree or equivalent is preferred, with at least 1 year of related experience.

Qualifications

• Must be eighteen years of age or older.
• Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
• The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through a trade school degree program or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots and repairs electric lift equipment, conveyor systems and related hydraulic/pneumatic issues.
• Performs preventative maintenance and necessary modifications on equipment and buildings.
• Provides equipment status reports with details of maintenance problems.
• Follows safety guidelines and OSHA standards; maintains a safe working environment.
• Maintains clean and organized work areas.
