Job summary

OnLogic is seeking a Firmware Engineer to design and sustain firmware across ARM-based SoCs and MCUs, including ARM device drivers and Linux integration. You’ll work from concept through prototype, validating firmware on hardware and contributing to UEFI/BIOS work for x86 environments.

The role requires collaboration with mechanical, electrical, and software teams to meet product goals and quality standards, with onsite engagement at company offices and a strong focus on open, innovative problem

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
• 3+ years of firmware development experience, preferably with ARM SoCs in the industrial PC industry.
• Experience leading targeted software/firmware design efforts.
• Experience collaborating across mechanical, electrical, firmware, and product testing disciplines.
• Experience in embedded firmware and debugging using JTAG-based debuggers and logic analyzers.
• Strong background in software design with C and Assembly.
• Experience with Git and standard software development processes.
• Understanding of ARM or MCU architectures, firmware, and Linux.
• Experience with ARM64 SoCs and device trees in ARM environments preferred.
• Ability to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Document firmware requirements and specifications with product teams.
• Develop firmware and software targeting ARM SoCs and MCUs.
• Guide firmware and software development efforts.
• Port and develop Linux device drivers for ARM products.
• Support x86 UEFI customizations.
• Collaborate with external partners on firmware.
• Build prototypes with manufacturing for evaluation.
• Validate firmware and driver functionality on prototypes.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes.
• Support product certification and technical documentation.
