Job summary

OnLogic is seeking a Firmware Engineer to develop and sustain industrial computing products across ARM SoCs, MCUs, and Linux drivers. You will work on ARM device drivers, custom x86 UEFI/BIOS, and firmware across full product lifecycles, collaborating with design and manufacturing teams.

Onsite in South Burlington or Cary to enable close teamwork and rapid iteration. The role demands a strong background in C/Assembly, embedded firmware, and ARM architectures, with 3+ years in industrial PC

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, SE, or EE.
• Experience leading targeted software/firmware design efforts.
• 3+ years of firmware development with ARM SoCs in industrial PCs.
• Experience collaborating across mech, electrical, firmware, and test teams.
• Embedded firmware debugging with JTAG and logic analyzers.
• Strong C and Assembly software design background.
• Git and standard software development process experience.
• Understanding of ARM or MCU architectures, firmware, and Linux.
• ARM64 SoCs experience and device trees in ARM environments preferred.
• Engineering aptitude for electronic/electrical systems and schematics.
• Ability to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Document firmware requirements with product definition/design teams.
• Develop firmware/software for ARM SoCs and MCUs.
• Guide firmware/software development efforts.
• Port and develop Linux device drivers for ARM products.
• Support x86 UEFI customizations.
• Collaborate with external parties in firmware development.
• Build prototypes with manufacturing for evaluation.
• Validate firmware and drivers on prototypes.
• Improve development processes and document compliance-related issues.
• Support product sustainability and SW/FW issue resolutions.
