Job summary

Total Safety is seeking an Emergency Response Technician to support safety at high-risk industrial facilities in Midland, TX. The role covers rapid response to fires and hazardous incidents, operation of firefighting and rescue equipment, and active participation in safety programs and drills.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in firefighting or industrial emergency response, NFPA certifications, and a strong emphasis on safety, teamwork, and physical readiness.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary training in Fire Science preferred.
• NFPA 1001 Firefighter I & II or equivalent certification.
• Hazardous Materials Operations (NFPA 472/1072).
• Technical Rescue certifications (confined space, rope rescue, trench, machinery).
• Valid driver’s license; EVOC or industrial vehicle operation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to industrial fires, explosions, chemical releases, and hazardous material incidents.
• Operate firefighting apparatus, pumps, fixed suppression systems, and portable fire equipment.
• Conduct fire prevention inspections, hot work monitoring, and testing of fire protection systems.
• Assist with incident command operations and hazard assessment during emergency events.
• Perform confined space, rope/high-angle, trench, and machinery rescues.
• Use and maintain specialized rescue equipment and participate in drills and pre-incident planning.
• Promote safety awareness and enforce industrial safety practices.
