Job summary

Metal Products Inc. (MPI), part of the ASSA ABLOY group, is seeking a Finisher/Painter to prepare, repair, and finish commercial steel doors and frames. The role emphasizes surface prep, Bondo filling, and industrial finishing to meet quality standards.

You will support production, ensure timely completion, and uphold safety guidelines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Qualified candidates have at least 1 year in industrial painting or finishing, experience with fillers on metal

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in industrial painting or manufacturing finishing.
• Experience using Bondo or similar fillers on metal surfaces.
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to read work orders and follow instructions.
• Ability to stand, bend, lift, and work in a production environment.
• Experience in commercial door and frame manufacturing is a plus.
• Experience using grinders, sanders, and surface preparation tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare metal doors and frames by sanding, grinding, and repairing surface imperfections.
• Apply Bondo and similar fillers to create smooth, uniform surfaces.
• Perform detailed shaping, sanding, and feathering to meet finish standards.
• Mix and apply industrial primer using spray equipment.
• Inspect finished products to ensure quality, accuracy, and appearance.
• Follow work orders and supervisor instructions to ensure proper finishing requirements.
• Maintain tools, spray equipment, and workstations in clean condition.
• Communicate with team members to ensure production timelines are met.
• Support general production activities as needed.
