Thermo-Trol Systems Inc is seeking an Industrial Field Technician to install, commission, troubleshoot, and maintain industrial control systems in field settings. You will work with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and instrumentation, applying knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and programming principles.

This role requires the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, travel to client sites, and communicate clearly with customers while adhering to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate degree or technical certification preferred.
• 2–5 years of experience in industrial instrumentation and control systems.
• Proficiency in PLC programming and troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley, Siemens).
• Experience with HMI/SCADA software and programming tools.
• Familiarity with VFDs and electrical systems; able to read schematics.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and test industrial control systems.

• Interpret wiring schematics, manuals, and diagrams for installation.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of industrial control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and instrumentation. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, and programming principles, as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced field environment.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate degree or technical certification in Electrical Engineering, Automation Technology, or a related field preferred.
• 2-5 years of experience in industrial instrumentation and control systems.
• Proficiency in PLC programming and troubleshooting (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens).
• Experience with HMI/SCADA software and programming tools.
• Familiarity with VFDs.
• In-depth understanding of electrical systems, including power distribution, control circuits, and instrumentation.
• Knowledge of industrial networks and communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Modbus).
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, including blueprints, wiring schematics, and diagrams.
• Ability to accurately identify and distinguish between color-coded wiring and safety markings under various lighting conditions.
• Ability to safely install, troubleshoot, and terminate control circuits according to schematic diagrams.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with clients and team members.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Willingness to travel to client sites as required.
