Job summary

Actalent in Sturgis, MI is seeking a Field Service Technician to install, service, troubleshoot, and repair custom industrial machinery at customer sites. The role involves significant travel (about 50%) across the U.S.

and internationally, with 6-12 months of training onsite in Sturgis. You will read blueprints, perform preventative maintenance, and support customers with on-site installations and upgrades.

Qualifications

• Experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial machinery.
• Hands-on machine building, machining, or heavy equipment exposure.
• Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with machining equipment.
• Troubleshooting across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatics.
• Strong communication with customers and team.
• Able to work independently in the field and travel ~50%.

Responsibilities

• Install, assemble, and commission custom machinery at customer sites.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance on machinery.
• Read blueprints, drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Start up equipment and verify system function.
• Provide on-site customer support and guidance.
