The Weitz Company is seeking a Field Engineer to join its Industrial team, with initial assignment in Beaumont, TX. The role involves supervising field work, coordinating with subcontractors, and supporting project scheduling and cost reporting.

Travel may be required based on project needs, offering a clear path toward a future Superintendent position. Applicants should have 1–2 years in a project engineering or related role, with a basic understanding of construction documents and methods.

Qualifications

• Experience or internship in construction or project engineering.
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents.
• Knowledge of construction methods and materials.
• Strong initiative and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Detail oriented and highly organized.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the development of the project plan and ensure proper execution.
• Assist Superintendent with equipment review and planning.
• Support pre-construction meetings with subcontractors.
• Maintain and protect tools, equipment, and materials on site.
• Assist with site logistics and cleanup to present a professional image.
• Maintain cost reporting and respond to RFIs.
• Develop and update the project schedule with the Superintendent.
• Document delays and inform the Superintendent.
• Monitor field performance across subcontractors, employees, and costs.
• Maintain relations with owners’ and architects’ representatives.
