Job summary

Clean Harbors in Baltimore, MD seeks a dedicated Facility Maintenance Technician to perform maintenance and repairs on equipment across the site. The role requires hands-on mechanical skills, including pumps, piping, tanks, and heavy equipment, to support safe, compliant facility operations.

The ideal candidate will proactively identify maintenance needs, troubleshoot issues, and schedule tasks with minimal supervision while prioritizing health and safety. Shift: 1st; Pay: $30-$36 DOE.

Qualifications

• 1+ years millwright type experience preferred.
• 1+year maintenance experience preferred or two years education.
• Plant maintenance in preventive maintenance, installations, welding, electrical, pipefitting.
• Demonstrated education or welding experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices.
• Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility equipment and infrastructure.
• Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on industrial machinery, pumps, motors, conveyors, shredders, compressors, and associated equipment.
• Maintain and repair piping systems, valves, fittings, flanges, pumps, and transfer systems.
• Support operations and maintenance activities within the facility tank farm, including tank-related equipment, transfer lines, and containment systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair drum shredder systems and associated mechanical components.
• Conduct inspections of mechanical systems to identify wear, leaks, deficiencies, or potential failures.
• Perform welding, fabrication, and mechanical repairs as needed.
• Operate and maintain heavy equipment, including loaders, excavators, forklifts, skid steers, and other industrial mobile equipment.
• Diagnose equipment malfunctions and implement effective corrective actions to minimize downtime;
• Assist with facility improvement projects, equipment installations, and modifications.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, and work orders.
