This role involves overseeing and leading the Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) process for large-scale construction projects. Responsibilities include working with the VDC team to create and maintain Building Information Modeling (BIM) models, performing clash detection and coordination, and producing 3D visualizations and animations. The role also involves implementing and managing VDC technology initiatives to support project objectives.

What You'll Do:
  1. Lead the VDC process for complex projects using software such as Revit, Navisworks, SketchUp, etc.
  2. Create and maintain BIM models.
  3. Perform clash detection and coordination.
  4. Produce 3D visualizations and animations.
  5. Implement VDC technology initiatives like laser scanning, drones, virtual reality.
  6. Support software and hardware systems used by the VDC team.
  7. Ensure quality and accuracy of BIM models and deliverables.
  8. Communicate with project stakeholders to understand their needs.
  9. Train and mentor junior VDC specialists.
  10. Perform additional duties as assigned.
What You'll Need:
  1. Associate’s degree or certificate in CAD, BIM, VDC, or related field + 6 years of relevant experience, OR
  2. Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field + 4 years of relevant experience, OR
  3. 8 years of relevant experience in lieu of formal education.
What You'll Bring:
  1. Knowledge of advanced VDC concepts like BIM LOD, clash detection, coordination.
  2. Proficiency with Revit, Navisworks, SketchUp, Lumion, Enscape.
  3. Experience with VDC initiatives such as laser scanning, drones, virtual reality.
  4. Leadership ability in complex VDC projects.
  5. Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  6. Attention to detail and quality.
  7. Experience with web development frameworks such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript.
What We Prefer:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in construction management, engineering, architecture, or related field.

The pay range varies by location, e.g., New York: $93,650 - $183,098; Los Angeles: $107,698 - $168,450; Colorado: $103,015 - $161,126; Minnesota: $98,333 - $153,803; Illinois: $103,015 - $161,126.
