Job description

This role involves overseeing and leading the Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) process for large-scale construction projects. You will work with the VDC team to create and maintain Building Information Modeling (BIM) models, perform clash detection and coordination, and produce 3D visualizations and animations. Additionally, you will implement and oversee VDC technology initiatives that support project goals.

What You'll Do:
  1. Lead the VDC process for complex projects using software such as Revit, Navisworks, SketchUp, etc.
  2. Create and maintain BIM models with software like Revit, Navisworks, SketchUp, etc.
  3. Perform clash detection and coordination using Navisworks, BIM 360, etc.
  4. Produce 3D visualizations and animations with Lumion, Enscape, etc.
  5. Implement and oversee VDC technology initiatives like laser scanning, drones, virtual reality, etc.
  6. Support software and hardware systems used by the VDC team.
  7. Ensure quality and accuracy of BIM models and deliverables.
  8. Communicate with project stakeholders to understand their needs.
  9. Train and mentor junior VDC specialists.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.
What You'll Need:
  • Associate’s degree or certificate in CAD, BIM, VDC, or related field + 6 years relevant experience, OR
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field + 4 years relevant experience, OR
  • 8 years relevant experience in lieu of education.
What You'll Bring:
  • Knowledge of advanced VDC concepts like BIM LOD, clash detection, coordination.
  • Proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, SketchUp, Lumion, Enscape, etc.
  • Experience with VDC initiatives like laser scanning, drones, VR.
  • Ability to oversee VDC processes for large projects.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and quality.
  • Experience with web development frameworks such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript.
What We Prefer:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or related field.

Pay ranges vary by location, e.g., New York: $93,650 - $183,098; Los Angeles: $107,698 - $168,450; Colorado: $103,015 - $161,126; Minnesota: $98,333 - $153,803; Illinois: $103,015 - $161,126. Actual pay depends on qualifications and location.
